Keeping up with the times

We all try to keep up with the times. A great deal happens in a life, and a great deal, sadly or perhaps happily, never happens at all. Somehow we all long to surround ourselves with lovely things that fill us up and lift our spirits. Sometimes they are small things, sometimes bigger ones.
